Satellite TV is a wireless communication medium used to transmit television in the house of the subscriber. The satellites were launched to combat the limitation of radio signal transmission. Radio signals can only travel in straight lines, which means viewers devices must be in the line of sight to receive the broadcast.

Skyscrapers, tall buildings, trees and other obstructions are serious limitation of this type of transfer. Hence the satellite transmission technology breaks this jinx. Therefore, the satellite broadcasters found other means to transmit their signals to viewers.
